Chili’s: Not just good burgers or beers but excellent returns too
Looking for a luxurious Tex-Mex style cuisine restaurant? Why not go for a diner, which has over 40 years of experience in serving its patrons. Chili’s Grill & Bar is a casual dining option where you get a vast range of items on the menu from steaks, shrimp tacos, and bacon burgers to nutritional, allergen and vegetarian options. This is the perfect place for bonding and spending time with friends or family.
Chili’s, Inc. chain is now owned and operated by Brinker International after Norman E. Brinker bought it from Larry Lavine, 8 years after its inception. Boasting of presence in 34 countries across six continents, Chili’s, Inc. now has 1580 outlets – 839 of which are company owned and 741 are franchisees.
The Beginning….
Converting a postal station on Greenville Ave into an eating joint is how Chili’s began in the 1975 in the Vickery Meadows in Dallas, Texas. The vision of the founder, Larry Lavine was to set up a place where friends or families can spend time over a great range of hamburgers at affordable prices. And his vision proved successful and within a couple of years, Chili’s grew to 28 locations!
…and now
Burger and beer is what they wanted to offer their guests as they hang out in Chili’s. And now it is not only the big mouth burgers, but also fajitas, baby back ribs, enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, desserts and beverages. The list is really long. The range on the menu starts with appetizers, soups and salads, moving on to sandwiches, burritos, ribs, steaks, burgers, or to lighter platter options of salads with salmon or grilled chicken, ending the eating delight with desserts like molten chocolate cake, cheesecake and many more.
The Financial Picture
When Brinker international bought out Chili’s, Inc. it took the company public and today the stock is trading at $52.57. It also flaunts $3.33 earnings per share (EPS) while the dividend yield stands at a 2.59%. The total revenue for the second quarter of this financial year stands at $758.49 million. The company has institutional holdings of 125.20% and 351 holders with over 62 million shares. The five top institutional holdings are by: Vanguard Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co, LSV Asset Management, Neuberger Berman Group LLC and Capital Research Global Investors.
Interested in Investing?
While you are enjoying an evening or maybe multiple evenings in one of Chili’s joints, you might see the satisfied guests there and take to the idea too. It cannot get better than investing in a franchise with Chili’s as it has more than 30 years of experience in franchising, since its first franchise in 1984. The franchisor, Brinker International Payroll Company, L.P gives you two options to choose from:
- Chili’s Grill & Bar: The full service restaurant, which serves right from appetizers to the beef, chicken and seafood entrees, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, steaks and other Mexican cuisine menus and ends it with desserts of various kinds. It also maintains a full service bar.
- Chili’s Special Venues: This is a smaller version of the actual Chili’s Grill and Bar where the menu has a selected range only and the area of the joint will also be less than what the actual one flaunts.
Though you will not receive any financial assistance from Brinker, direct or indirect, they will provide you, as the owner and 5 managers working with you, a complete management training program of 15 weeks. Since this program is a must for all owners and managers, all newly appointed managers will undergo this program time-to-time. If you are opening two or more restaurants, 10 of your managers can attend the training session with you.
