Verizon – Leading American Communications Partner

Incorporated in 1983, Verizon Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: VZ) is a holding company offering information, communications, and entertainment services and products to businesses, consumers and government agencies, through its subsidiaries. It is offering data, voice and video solutions and services on its Wireline and Wireless networks.

In Wireless Segment, it offers communications services and products, including data and wireless voice equipment and services to businesses, customers and government across the US. In Wireline segment, it is offering data, voice and video communications services and products, including data and broadband video, data center, corporate networking solutions, cloud services, managed network and security services, and long distance and local voice solutions. The company is offering services to the end users, and to businesses, government and carriers in the US and worldwide.

Current Status and Revenue

Currently, the company is offering a wide range of devices in its wireless segment, including feature phones, smartphones, tablets and other devices. Smartphones from the company support 4G LTE as well as 3G EV-DO superfast data services and run on iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone. Along with it, the company is offering jetpacks, which include both 3G and 4G connections and several Wi-Fi enabled devices. The subscribers can easily access the web at broadband speeds wirelessly on their PCs through USB modems, data cards or certain netbooks and laptops with 3G EV-DO and 4G LTE broadband modules. You can also purchase Verizon property of your own.

Verizon Communications Inc. did not add wireless subscribers as expected because of intense competition in third quarter. However, it is expected to renegotiate the deal to acquire Yahoo Inc. after security breach of email accounts in Yahoo Mail. In July, Verizon added that it would acquire the core business of Yahoo for $4.83 billion to sustain growth in media and advertising as its bread-and-butter operations keep on struggling in saturated device market. A great opportunity to own Verizon investment property is awaiting you in New York, Washington DC and across the US.

According to Reuters, the overall operating revenue of the company fell 6.7% in the quarter to $30.94 billion, as compared to $33.16 billion last year. According to analysts, the revenue would be $31.14 billion.  Verizon is the top US wireless company, which has gained up to 6% of stocks this year. It has managed to add 442,000 subscribers in retail postpaid segment, who are going to pay bills on monthly basis. It was surprisingly below 766,300 subscribers for analysts.

In the third quarter, the growth of number of subscribers was partly hurt when Samsung recalled its Note 7 devices because of risk of catching fire and overheating and backlog in new iPhone 7 orders, according to Verizon executives. To win over the subscriber base of Verizon, rivals like Sprint Corp and T-Mobile US Inc. offered great promotions. Verizon corporate franchisee is up for sale.

To outperform its rival in wireless market, Verizon purchased AOL in the year 2015. It has now planned to buy Yahoo’s to offer ad technology tools and digital web properties, to compete with several global giants like Alphabet Inc. Google and Facebook Inc. According to general counsel in Verizon, the data breach of Yahoo has been reported in September, covering 500 million accounts. It could be the opportunity for Verizon to get the deal.
